Real-life version of "The Terminal"
Most probably, most of us have watched the holywood movie "The Terminal" starring Tom Hanks. It tells of the story of an easterner's life as he gets stranded at the John F. Kennedy Airport because war broke out in his country, thus leaving his nationality unrecognized by the US. He was faced with the ordeal of taking up residence in the airport until his status is fixed.
This movie turns into reality at the Tokyo Narita Airport Teminal 1, between the arrival gates and passport control, where Feng Zhenghu is currently stranded for more than 30 days now. Feng Zheng is a prominent human rights defender who has been blocked from returning to his homeland, China. Although he has a valid Japanese visa, and is free to go out the airport, he chose to stay inside in hopes of persuading the Chinese government to let him go home.
