I found a really nice dress shop at SM North EDSA Annex

They've got pretyy dresses and they're cheap!  Prices range from PhP600 to a little bit above PhP1,000.

I've got some money to spare so I bought a dress:

Yey!  Got my salary today, finally!

My first order of business:  I traded my long straight locks to gorgeous curly tresses!  

I've always sported straight hairstyles since childhood with variations only in length.  I only had my mane curled (using a curling iron) once in the past for my dad's friend's son's wedding last year (see pic here).  But now, I'm having it permanent.   

I am now at an age when most of my friends are getting hitched.  Just this year, two of my closest friends got married... well, T's wedding is not until next week.  And I just got a message in Facebook that another dear friend just got engaged!  Whoa!  Another good news!

Weddings are happy events.  It is a time when  families and friends get together to celebrate the union of two souls.  Happy thoughts and wishes on the couple's lives together abound.

It is also a time when ladies like myself, who are so deprived with dressing up  (due to our line of work, I'm a geologist, 'nuff said), get the opportunity to become gorgeous and sparkling! Hehe....

Here are some of the dresses I've worn  for my friends' weddings.  Yes, I love weddings!

This is about me turning Japanese!

B brought me a Yukata as 'pasalubong' (souvenir). Yukata, which literally means bath(ing) clothes, is a casual Japanese summer kimono. Like other traditional Japanese clothes, a Yukata is made with straight seams and wide sleeves. Unlike formal kimono, however, a yukata is made of cotton and not silk. I had to consult Youtube so as to find instructions on how to wear the Yukata (there was an instruction leaflet that came with the Yukata, but it's in Japanese).

My first attempt at wearing the outfit was sloppy! As my friend said, "Mukhang suman!" The one featured here is my second attempt at donning the Yukata... Pretty decent for a junior [psycho]geophysicist now, right?


Now all I need are those wooden clog slippers to go with this dress... *where to find? where to find?*
